Your gym is probably already in our directory — we import every gym from OpenStreetMap (community-edited open data, © OSM contributors), which means members worldwide can already find you. What they cannot yet see is you: your real opening hours, your current pricing, your best photos, your response to their messages.

Two free steps change that. And a third — if you want to stand above every other gym in your city — earns you the gold GFV Certified mark. Certified gyms are also the only facilities eligible to commission the physical Colossus sculpture for their entrance — an optional purchase, not bundled with certification.

Step 2 — Add More Locations (If You're a Chain)

Running multiple gyms under one brand? Verify once, manage many:

  1. 1 Verify once — claim your first gym with business registration documents.
  2. 2 Add locations in one click — once verified, add your other clubs from the dashboard without repeated paperwork.
  3. 3 Manage each separately — every club keeps its own profile: photos, opening hours, pricing, facilities, staff, contact.
  4. 4 Certify selectively — you can audit your flagship first and add others over time. Each club has its own certification status.

Step 3 — Apply for GFV Certification

Certification is how serious gyms differentiate from the noise. The gold mark is not a participation badge — it's a signal that your facility has been independently audited against a global standard and passed.

What auditors look for

Every on-site audit scores the same five categories. Each category is weighted, and the final score determines your result:

Equipment Quality

Commercial-grade plates, bars, racks and cardio; variety across strength, mobility, conditioning; no missing pins or damaged kit; platforms properly set up for Olympic lifts where relevant.

Facility & Hygiene

Cleanliness, temperature, ventilation, changing rooms, showers, floor maintenance. Audited at peak hours so results reflect reality.

Staff & Expertise

Floor coverage, coach qualifications, member onboarding, response time at reception, first-aid certification, language coverage if serving international members.

Safety & Standards

Emergency procedure, defib location, lifting platform condition, spotter availability, child access rules, valid insurance.

Atmosphere & Community

Music level, spacing, lighting, member behaviour around shared kit, whether serious athletes actively train here. The factor that turns a good gym into one worth travelling for.

    Create your gym account with business details. 10 minutes.

    Verify Ownership

    Upload business registration documents. Our team verifies the legitimacy. 1–3 business days.

    Apply for Audit

    Request an audit from your owner dashboard. Choose remote (video walk-through) or on-site.

    Audit

    Trained auditor scores your facility on the five categories. On-site visits happen at peak hours so the score reflects reality.

    Report & Decision

    Detailed report with category scores arrives within 5 business days. If you pass, we issue a certification contract.

    Certified

    Sign the contract and receive the digital badge pack. Your listing flips to GFV Certified. Valid for 12 months. FAQ for Gyms

My gym is already on the platform — how do I claim it?
Search for your gym in the directory, click "This is my gym", submit proof of ownership (business registration, utility bill or lease agreement). We review within 1–3 business days.
Do I need to be a certain size to apply for certification?
No. We certify gyms of all sizes — from a 60m² boutique studio to a 2000m² flagship. The scoring rubric is weighted appropriately.
Can I have multiple locations?
Yes. Verify ownership once with your first gym, then add all other locations from your dashboard in one click — no repeated paperwork. Each location has its own profile and can be certified independently.
What happens if a location fails the audit?
You receive a detailed report with exact scores and the gap to passing. You can reapply once the issues are addressed — typically a 60-day waiting period so improvements can take effect.
Can I dispute an audit result?
Yes. If you believe the audit was inaccurate, request a review from your dashboard. A second auditor will revisit the facility at your cost (refunded if the second audit disagrees with the first).
Is there a monthly platform fee?
No. There are no recurring platform fees in the current version. You only pay for the certification audit itself, if you choose to apply.
Do I have to buy the Colossus sculpture to stay Certified?
No. Certification and the digital badge pack stand on their own — many Certified gyms never commission the sculpture. The Colossus is an optional physical artefact, sold only to Certified facilities. It adds presence at your entrance, but it does not change your certification status either way.
Can any gym buy the Colossus sculpture?
No. The Colossus is sold exclusively to GFV Certified gyms. Uncertified facilities cannot purchase one at any price — the sculpture would lose its meaning if it could. You must earn certification first.
What about the Colossus sculpture if I lose certification?
You own the sculpture once purchased, but your right to display it as a current GFV mark ends when certification lapses. Re-certify within the grace window and the mark is active again. Gyms that let certification expire and keep the sculpture on display as if still certified will be actioned under the certification contract.
How do members contact me through the platform?
Once your gym is Owner Verified, members see a "Message Owner" button on your listing. Messages arrive in your dashboard inbox and optionally by email.
Does the platform take commission on memberships?
No. All enquiries and bookings happen directly between you and the member. We don't touch the transaction and we don't take a cut.

Hand-cast bronze sculpture for the entrance of GFV Certified gyms. The certification is earned through audit — the sculpture is then commissioned, by invitation only, by Certified facilities that choose to display it.
